Edwards Air Force Base is located on the western edge of the Mojave Desert about 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles, 90 miles northwest of San Bernardino and 80 miles southeast of Bakersfield. It is the home of the Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), where the Air Force has tested nearly every aircraft in its inventory.
